Landcatch - Aquaculture Without Frontiers Competition

One of the highlights of the conference dinner programme was drawing the prize winners for the conference competition. The task was to identify not-so-recent pictures of UK aquaculture personalities. The competition was won by Ian Carr of EWOS who successfully identified all the pictures. Second prize was awarded to Lesley Jenkins of Scottish Quality Salmon and third prize to Jim Gallagher of Scottish Sea Farms.

Aquaculture Today ~ Fit for the Future

Aquaculture Today is a new conference for the UK fish farming industry in a European context.

It is the only UK-based aquaculture conference covering all aquaculture sectors; salmonids, shellfish, marine fin-fish and other species. Delegates will include aquaculture producers, researchers, seafood processors, representatives from industry associations and others such as civil servants whose responsibilities include aquaculture.

The conference will explore a number of key issues affecting aquaculture businesses including the regulatory environment for aquaculture, environmental responsibilities, aquatic animal health and aquaculture markets. The aim is to provide a constructive and sociable forum for discussion, culminating in clear resolutions.

The two-day event will be held at the Marriott Hotel on the western outskirts of Edinburgh – conveniently situated close to Edinburgh airport and adjacent to the Edinburgh by-pass for those arriving by car.
